HOURS 7 AM-7 PM (can work 3 12 hour days or 2 8 hour days and 2 12 hour days)Position description:
The purpose of the occupational health nurse is to maintain the health, safety, and productivity of client staff by providing superior clinical services.
The successful applicant will possess an active registered nurse license and work in close collaboration with the client occupational health (OH) clinical lead.
Experience in occupational health, emergency room, or public health is highly preferred.
Job duties, under general direction:
oPerform RN level assessment and medical management of work related injury/illnesso Facilitate return to work and workers' compensation programso Assist with international travel health consultationso Perform phlebotomy to support research requests, administer immunizations, and TB screening testso Assist with OH supply managemento Respond to site medical emergencies and support disaster preparedness activitieso Perform medical surveillance examsEnsure OH compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and workers compensation compliance regulations as applicableo Comply with ethical, legal, professional requirements, corporate policies and procedureso Establish and maintain effective working relationships with client's colleagues, patients, and OH partnersPosition requirementso Active registered nurse license in good standingo 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
Occupational and Environmental Health experience, emergency room or public health strongly preferredo COHN-S certification--strongly preferredo Bachelors of Nursing degree--preferredo Audiometry and Spirometry Certification preferredo CPR/BLS CertificationKnowledge & skill requirementso Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillso Ability to organize and rapidly prioritize responsibilities in response to clinical need and staff populationo Knowledge of OH and safety principles to establishing and maintaining a safe work environmento Experience with CA workers compensation regulations and claim filing, case management, OSHA regulations, and maintaining OSHA recordso Strong phlebotomy skills requiredo Ability to perform audiometry and spirometry testing for medical surveillance programso Computer literacy in Microsoft office, competency with using electronic medical records systemsTop 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
Experience with injuries-- Role will work with different departments/ manufacturing floor (to prevent injury and get an idea of what you may be treating) Surveillance programs etc.
